Agistri is situated in the Saronic Gulf close to the islands of Aegina and Poros. Its proximity to Athens and the rest of the Saronic islands make it an excellent destination for quick getaways, day trips and island hopping in Greece! Skala is not only the main port of Agistri but also its main town. Along the coastal road of Agistri, you’ll find a selection of restaurants, cafes, beach bars and traditional taverns, where you can eat fresh fish and seafood, along with local delicacies. Also, there are regular buses from Skala to Dragonera and Aponissos, while Halikiada is a short walk away from Skala. This destination is a little Aegean gem, perfect for your sailing holidays!

One of the great things about the Saronic Gulf is that the sea is sheltered from the infamous Meltemi Wind, and when the weather is calm, it is possible to navigate its waters with manpower alone.

A popular destination is the small island of Metopi, between Agistri and Aegina.

Aponissos is a small, secluded bay on the southern side of the island. Surrounded by much greenery, Aponissos has exotic, blue green water. 8 km south west of Megalochori
his is a beautiful, pebbled beach on the western side of Agistri. Part of the beach is organized with sun beds and umbrellas. 3 km south west of Megalochori.
The long and sandy beach of Megalochori is located right in front of the village. Part of this beach is organized with sun beds and umbrellas. Many taverns line the coast. On the northern side of the island.
The secluded beach of Xekofti is totally remote, even in high season. This is the perfect place for total privacy. 1 km west of Megalochori.
"Lekani" Lake is located on the southwest part of Agistri and it constitutes a lovely wetland with rare species of plants and various birds. The lake is surrounded by dense vegetation of mainly pine trees and it is an ideal place for trekking and bike rides.
The best fish dishes are served in psarotaverns. You can find fish and seafood dishes here. Oysters, mussels, octopuses and squids are very popular on Agistri. Moreover, you can buy a fish and ask to cook it in a tavern. Don’t miss the chance to taste local octopus. Moreover, if you love soups, Agistri is a perfect place for you. Avgolemono is a classic soup of chicken broth, egg yolks and lemon juice. Fasolada is a traditional Greek soup made with white beans.
