The distance of Skiathos marina from the main street is about 5 to 10 minutes by foot from the quay. There is also a 24-hour taxi service available if you want to take a tour of the island by car, or visit the airport of Skiathos which is 5 minutes away.
Be careful with
The prevailing wind in Skiathos marina is the known “meltemi” . It mainly blows from N-NE at Force at appr. 2-5 Beaufort scale, at the summertime and up to 6-7 at September and October.
We can say there is no any big hazards inside the marina of Skiathos, but you have to keep an eye on ferries and hydrofoils. Also you have to be careful to anchor outside the landing path of the airport, as it is real close as said before. No vessel with height over 4 meters can anchor in the airplanes landing path.
You have to know that the berths are on the quay and there are lines available in the Marina, so you are requested not to use your anchor inside the marina of Skiathos.
